Toronto-Montreal author Michael Mirolla is a novelist, short story writer, poet and playwright. Publications include two novels: Berlin (a 2010 Bressani Prize winner and finalist for the 2009 Indie Book and National Best Books Awards) and the recently-released The Facility, which features among other things a string of cloned Mussolinis; two short story collections: The Formal Logic of Emotion and Hothouse Loves & Other Tales; and two collections of poetry: the English-Italian bilingual Interstellar Distances/ Distanze Interstellari and Light And Time. His short story, “A Theory of Discontinuous Existence,” was selected for The Journey Prize Anthology, while “The Sand Flea” was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. Along with partner Connie McParland, Michael runs Guernica Editions, a Canadian literary publishing house.

Hélène Dorion a publié plus d’une vingtaine de livres (poèmes, récits, essais) depuis 1983. Hélène Dorion was born in 1958 in Quebec City. She studied philosophy at the university of Laval, and published her first collection of poems, L’Intervalle prolongé, in 1983. Since then her prolific oeuvre – poetry, fiction, essays, and livres d’artistes – has constituted one of modern Quebecois literature’s major achievements. She is the winner of the Governor General’s Award for Poetry, the Prix Mallarmé, the Prix Wallonie- Bruxelles, the Prix Alain-Grandbois, and numerous other Canadian and international prizes. When Ravir: Les lieux appeared in 2005, Dorion became the first Canadian to receive the Prix Mallarmé, while her 2008 volume, L’Hublot des heures, won the Prix Charles Vildrac – another first for a Quebecois writer. Flavia Cosma est poétesse, auteur et traductrice canadienne d'origine roumaine. Elle a également une maîtrise en ingénierie électronique et a fait des études théâtrales en Roumanie. Paul Seesequasis is an award winning writer, editor and journalist. He worked for 13 years as a literary arts officer with The Canada Council for the Arts. He is the author of Tobacco Wars – a novel, published by Quattro Books, fall 2010. The nopvel is listed for Relit Awards and is featured on CBC-Radio's Next Chapter. His narrative Republic of Tricksterism (1996) is taught and studied at universities world-wide; was published in 75 Reading Plus, The Oxford Anthology of Native Canadian Literature, Grand Street, among others. Paul Seesequasis is the founding editor of Aboriginal Voices Magazine. He is also a freelance radio commentator for CBC-Radio. Together with Jesus Mora, a Canadian visual artist, Paul Seesequasis began in 2011 a collaboration project “Popol Vuh: An Illustrated Journey."inspired by the captivating story told within the actual Popol Vuh.

Ljubica Milicevic, born in Zemun, Serbia, is a novelist, poet and painter. She holds an M.A degree in Philosophy from Concordia University. Her poetry was published in various magazines, and anthologies in Canada, U.S., and Serbia. In Montréal, she published three novels: les Chemins des Pierres (Leméac), les Douze Jours de l’année (les Intouchables) and Marina et Marina (Éditions Trois). Over the years she has promoted Canadian and Serbian literature at International Book fairs in Belgrade and Quebec City. John Asfour is the author of five volumes of poetry in English, the most recent of which, Blindfold, (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2011) concerns his experience being blinded by a grenade in his native Lebanon at the age of 13. Three of his books have been translated into Arabic and one to French. He is the editor and translator of the landmark anthology, When the Words Burn: An Anthology of Modern Arabic Poetry (Cormorant Books, 1988, 1992, Maxville, Canada) and American University 1992, Cairo, Egypt as well as the University of Ankara 1994 which was short listed for the Canadian League of Poets Award. He co-authored with Alison Burch a volume of selected poems by Muhammad al-Maghut entitled Joy is Not My Profession, (Vehicule Press, 1994, Montreal Canada), shortlisted for the John Glasgow award, and his third book of poetry, One Fish from the Rooftop, (Cormorant Press, 1992, Maxville, Canada) was the recipient of the F.G. Bressani Literary Prize. His fourth book, Fields of My Blood, (Empyrial Press, 1997, Montreal Canada) received the Canada Council for the Arts Joseph Staufford award. He is a former professor of literature residing in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Asfour has published two more books in the last few months: Vancouver V6A: an anthology of Writings from the Downtown Eastside, Arsenal Pulp Press2012 Vancouver , Canada and Metamorphosis of Ishtar by Nadine Ltaif, translated from the French (2011 Guernica Editions, Toronto, Canada).

Jeremiah Wall: Is a poet, author and singer-songwriter, born in Michigan in the mid sixties. He immigrated to Canada in the early seventies, and began his writing career in the mid eighties. Founding editor of Dracaena Magazine in 1989, Jeremiah Wall produced and published numerous successful poets and performers of the nineties, while pursuing his own artistic career. He is credited with helping to revive the spoken word scene in Montreal, and in the Laurentian region, where he also worked as an arts journalist. He has published both at home and internationally. His musical work has received a global audience, garnering excellent reviews. His forthcoming album, entitled Cities, Not Paradise, was released in September of 2011.

Ashutosh Chakraborty is an award winning poet, author and teacher living in KAKRABAN, GOMATI, TRIPURA, India. He is the author of two poetry collections and three novels, essays and memoirs. Luis Raúl Calvo Nació –y vive-en Buenos Aires, Argentina en 1955. Poeta y ensayista. Born in Romania, Felicia Mihali had lived in Montreal since 2000. After studies in French, Mandarin and Dutch, she specialized in Postcolonial literature at the University of Montreal, where she also studied Art History and English Literature. She is co-founder of the webzine Terra Nova, which she edited for five years, and has published seven novels in French since 2002. The Darling of Kandahar is the first of her novels to be written in English. About The Darling of Kandahar A young woman poses for the cover of a magazine. A Canadian solder serving in Kandahar fells in love with her photograph and sends her an email. The Darling of Kandahar tells an astonishing story of love, loss, and displacement against the background of the war in Afghanistan, of the founding of the city of Montreal – and a city now crowded with immigrants. When Felicia Mihali’s first novel appeared in French in 2002, it was compared to Marie-Claire Blaise’s masterpiece A season in the life of Emmanuel. Making her English-language debut with The Darling of Kandahar, Mihali now joins Nancy Huston as one of the few writers working in English as well as French.

Ofelia Mariana Uta Burcea licenciada en Filología por la por la Universidad “Babes Bolyai”, de Cluj Napoca Provincia de Cluj, Rumanía, con Máster Oficial en Lingüística Aplicada a la Enseñanza de Español Lengua Extranjera, (MOLAELE) por la Universidad “Antonio de Nebrija”, Madrid, es Doctoranda en Filología Románica de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y, también discípula de la “Escuela Amigos del Shiatsu”, de Madrid. Ha trabajado como profesora de Lengua Rumana para los extranjeros, y actualmente colabora con dos universidades en proyectos para la inmigración: uno con la Universidad Nebrija, como Evaluadora para la Certificación Lingüística Comunicativa de Español A2 para trabajadores Inmigrantes, y otro, con La Universidad Europea de Madrid, para la elaboración del Glosario multilingüe, disponible online, INMIGRA-TERM. Ha participado en Congresos internacionales en España y en Rumanía, ocupándose del fenómeno “rumañol” y del problema de la traducción de términos administrativos (incluidos en el Glosario multilingüe on line), sobre los que tiene también trabajos publicados. Angela Leuck: An award-winning Montreal haiku and tanka poet, Angela Leuck has been published in journals and anthologies around the world. Her passion for flowers and gardens has inspired numerous poetry collections, most recently Garden Meditations and A Cicada in the Cosmos (inkling press, 2010). She is committed to making haiku and tanka better known in North America and is presently working on a haiku anthology for teens to be published in Fall 2012 by Wintergreen Studios.

Désirée Szucsany est née à Montréal où elle a étudié les lettres et les langues et l’histoire de l’art. Depuis 1980, elle publie des romans, des nouvelles et de la poésie. La Chasse-gardée (1980), Le Violon (1981), Beau soir pour mourir (1993) et Les Fées des lacs (2001). Ses recueils de nouvelles sont La Passe (1981) et Les Filets (1984). Elle a aussi publié un carnet de poèmes, L'Aveugle (1983). Elle a traduit une dizaine d'auteurs dont les romanciers Milton T. Kelly et Morley Callaghan. L’actualité alimente ses ouvrages de fiction, fondés sur l’imagination et rangés dans la catégorie du fantastique. Elle parle et écrit le français, l'anglais, l'espagnol et un peu le hongrois. Elle grave des murales en relief et peint des tableaux à l'encre et à l'huile. En 1999, elle a déposé une résolution demandant un cégep pour la région des Laurentides : le collège a ouvert ses portes en août 2008, à Mont-Tremblant. Elle est historienne d’art, diplômée de l’UQÀM, depuis 2010.

Steve Luxton lives in Montreal and also near Ayers Cliff in the rural eastern Townships of Quebec. He has taught English and Creative Writing for many years at John Abbott College and Concordia University. An original editor of both Matrix and The Moosehead Review, his first complete book of poems the hills that pass by was published in 1987, his second Iridium in 1993, and his third Luna Moth and Other Poems in 2004. His fourth collection, In the Vision of Birds (forthcoming) is a collection of new and selected poems about nature.

Antoine Gravel-Bilodeau est un jeune poète qui en est à ses débuts en poésie. Artiste dans l'âme, il livre une partie de lui à travers ses écrits. Ses oeuvres, étant considérablement relatées à l'amour peuvent aussi aborder la société, l'environnement tout comme la nature. Étudiant présentement au cégep en sciences humaines, il a comme intention de faire un B.A.C. en arts et lettres dans l'idée d'apprendre quelques techniques littéraires. Ses poèmes peuvent paraîtres introspectifs et sentimentaux. Même s'il préfère réciter ses écrits, il a tout de même comme intention de publier, éventuellement, un receuil qui regrouperait ses poèmes. Ce poète doit encore faire ses preuves, il a bien un début a tout.

Benedetta I. Pignataro works as a freelance translator (Italian, French, English) for diplomatic missions, government main ingeneering projects and  private companies,  accepting challenges such as the translation of a book on the rhythmic of the Persian language. From Italian to French, she translated the historical, political and sociological book “I Protagonisti Italiani del Quebec” by Senator Basilio Giordano. She’s also making genealogical research of the various branches of her family. She started writing the biography of her grand-father, the first dentist of Tuscany. As member of the AICW, she animated the first Salotto Letterario in Montreal at the Leonardo da Vinci Centre. A painter and a writer, she is member of the Italian Cultural Centre of Montreal and participates annually at their Poetry Contest and Contemprary Art Show at Casa d’Italia. She is also member of the National Geographic (1996-2011). She writes as she paints, spontaneously and warmly, using symbolism and onerism, in order to transmit peace and harmony.

David Deladurantaye Leblanc est un jeune québécois pure laine qui a vécu à Saint-Jérôme toute sa vie. Depuis son plus jeune âge, il a toujours apprécié la littérature ainsi que diverses autres formes d'arts. Sachant que sa mère est une passionnee de littérature et que son père un passionne de théâtre, il ait vite su apprendre les plusieurs embranchement des arts. Mais, ses parents se sont séparé quand il etait très jeune. David a vécu une trauma au point d'avoir de grave dépression qui ont durée plusieurs années. Il a réussit a améliorer son sort au file des ans. Maintenant, il est inscrit au cégep de Saint-Jérôme en Cinéma. De plus, il est actif dans la vie étudiante du cégep, de la revue littéraire du cégep de Saint-Jérôme Mots de Tête, il va débuter la Radio étudiante cette session ci. Il est un membre actif de l'association étudiante qui n'a pas peur de militer pour faire valoir ses valeurs et ses principes.

Né au Québec, Roger Lauzon a étudié la photographie professionnelle à l’école des Métiers des Trois-Rivières et en sort avec une vision artistique propre à lui. Il se définit d’abord comme un photographe, mais sa pratique artistique est caractérisée par son parcours de vie. Après des études en théologie son art visuel s’allie à l’écriture. Photographe de l’imaginaire ses textes poétiques nous transportent dans son univers. Depuis quelques années, il diffuse son travail au travers des expositions collectives et en solo dans la région des Laurentides. Son souci de rendre l’œuvre présente et en relation avec les gens l’amène à dispenser des ateliers en création littéraire, des conférences et il travail à un projet de livre d’artiste qui devrait voir le jour bientôt. Dernièrement, il a obtenu une subvention du Conseil de la Culture des Laurentides pour développer sa recherche plus loin. Au carrefour de l’image et de la poésie il nous attend…

Jane CassonArtist Statement: I am attracted to clarity in visual communication. Through communication we share our environment and ourselves with a community, I see my work as another platform for this exchange. Practicing in painting, drawing and screen-printing my work offers interpretation of found images and words to distil connections between them. Most recently I have been involved in creating prints that interact directly with the community of Val David from conception to exhibition. In this series I seek to reflect back the words and marks of the community back onto itself in a visually stimulating manner. Originally from Kingston, Ontario, I have spent the last four years in Montreal receiving my Bachelors of Fine Arts from Concordia University.

ASHISH CHAKRABORTY is a young artist from Kakraban, South Tripura, India. He has a Master of Fine Arts in painting from the Central University of Tipura. He currently works as a guest lecturer in Social Anganwadi Kendra. He has participated in numerous group art shows such as Lalit kala Academy Art Exhibition, Tipura Ravindra Parishad, Kanoria Art Center, Delhi, etc. He is the recipient of many awards for his work such as Kalakriti Foundation Scholarship, Nagpur Folk Art, North East Talented Artist Award, Stage Artist Award, etc. He participated in camps and workshops such as Kalahita Art Gallery. Hyderabad. Camp and Kalamkari colour international workshop, Hyderabad. Hi is had many solo exhibitions the most recently being the 2009 SCRIBAL ARTIST EXHIBITION and his 2010 Painting and Sculpture Exhibition.
